32 THE WOLVERINE ❱ NOVEMBER 2026 ❱ MICHIGAN FOOTBALL but I kind of see it here and there," he said. "It's a little frustrating, but it is what it is. He's still with the team and still leading." — Chris Balas CAM BROWN'S TRANSITION FROM AUSTRALIA TO ANN ARBOR Sophomore punter Cam Brown has been a true weapon for the program on special teams this season — averaging 41.9 yards per punt through six games with 13 of 30 finishing inside the 20- yard line — and the adjustment to Ann Arbor has been even more successful. Brown, a Queensland, Australia, na- tive, spent last season living in Las Ve- gas while playing for UNLV, but he's enjoyed a quieter transition to one of the best college towns in the country. "It's been a really fun adjustment, to be honest," Brown said on Oct. 13. "Coming from UNLV last year, I love everything about this place. This place feels like home to me. And playing un- der Coach [Kerry Coombs], he's an in- tense guy, as I'm sure a lot of you have seen, but I really think he gets the best out of a lot of us. "It's been an unreal experience. The first college football game I ever watched was [the 2024] Rose Bowl, and seeing that the Alabama punter was Australian, that was the first glimpse I got that there's actually a possibility for me to come over and play collegiate sports like this. "Coming here has been a dream. It's been everything I expected. It's Michi- gan. It's an unbelievable place, and it's been unreal. I remember obviously the ending and stuff like that. But I actually got into American football a month or two after that happened, so that was my first introduction." Brown's connection to Michigan Sophomore transfer Cam Brown has been a strong component of Michigan's special teams, aver- aging 41.9 yards per punt through six games of the 2026 season.
