Under the Dome Top of The Class Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Harrison Shipp — Sr., Soccer The Irish forward is one of 30 candidates across the country for this year's senior CLASS award in the men's soccer division. Shipp, who has yet to miss a game in his Notre Dame career, was a second-team Academic All-American as a junior after scoring six goals and adding six assists. He's also a three-time Big East Academic All-Star. In the classroom, he currently holds a 3.88 GPA as a finance major. Billy Pecor — Sr., Tennis A two-time Big East player of the week as a junior, Billy Pecor returns for his final season at Notre Dame as part of a strong supporting cast for Ryan Sachire's first year as head coach. Pecor was named an all-conference player last year. He started the 2013 school year by volunteering to help participants with their stroke at the "Smash MS" clinic during the first week of September. Money raised went to the MS Society. Tara Hyer Tira — Alum, Diving The 2008 Notre Dame graduate competed in her first FINAgoverned high-diving World Cup this summer in Barcelona. Tira was an all-conference three-meter diver for the Irish as a studentathlete. Now she starts her dives 20 meters off the group in the growing cliff-diving competitions around the world. She started competing in cliff diving in 2010 after several years of work at SeaWorld, where she was part of a diving show with dolphins and whales. Catrina Thompson — Asst. Coach, Tennis Notre Dame's newest assistant coach brings a wealth of playing experience to the Irish women's tennis team in her first fall back in South Bend. Thompson was a three-time All-American in doubles competition and won the Big East's most outstanding player award in 2005 and 2006. She had a brief professional career before returning to the college level. She coached as a volunteer at Yale and then for two seasons as an assistant at Boise State.
