From The Locker Room Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly … On the loss to Michigan: "I thought this was going to be something of a higher scoring football game, and that's going to be the case. In games where you're going to have two really good football teams, we're going to have to score more points than we have in the past. "That doesn't mean our defense is not as good — it just means we went up against a really good quarterback tonight that really made a lot of plays." Senior wide receiver TJ Jones … On the Irish offense: "We as an offense this year want to put up points every time we get the ball regardless of how a particular drive went. We came back to the sideline hungry, talking, conversing together on how to get more points." Senior quarterback Tommy Rees … On his thoughts about the game: "Our defense has done a great job for a long time. Hats off to Michigan. They had a good game plan both offensively and defensively. I'm not going to touch on the defense. "Offensively, we needed to be better, and we needed to execute. We definitely missed some opportunities to put more points on the board." On playing in catch-up mode for most of the game: "We're going to compete until the clock hits zero. I'm proud of the offense. Another productive game was put in by senior TJ Jones, who led Notre Dame in receiving with nine catches for 94 yards. Photo by bill panzica "We had guys competing throughout the four quarters and obviously it didn't end well, but we'll bounce back and be ready to go next week." Junior running back Amir Carlisle … On bouncing back from the defeat: "It just comes down to character. Everyone can be high and mighty when you're on top. This is just a character test for our team as a whole to bounce back. We have to deal with a bit of adversity now. "We're 1-1. I think we're a highcharacter team, and we're going to respond to this and get back to work on Tuesday in practice and prepare for Purdue." Fifth-year senior linebacker Dan Fox …
