On defending Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner: "He's just a skilled athlete. We were definitely in position to make the play. We had a bunch of different things go wrong." Michigan head coach Brady Hoke … On the Irish offense: "You got to give Tommy Rees some credit. I think the kid's a good quarterback. He's proven that against us three years in a row. He's accurate. They have some big-play receivers." On beating Notre Dame: "It's always nice to win. This is such a great rivalry, to be able to be on the right side of it always feels good. It also tells you a lot about where you're at when you play early in the year, where you're at as a program, what we need to do if we want to win a Big Ten championship. "We learned a lot about that because of the team we played." Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner … On teammate Jeremy Gallon: "He's like a little bulldog. We've worked so hard, ever since I got here. You guys are just now seeing it, but behind the doors, we've been working so hard. "We're finally getting the opportunity to display it, in front of the biggest crowd in college football." On the interception he threw in the end zone: "Coach [Al] Borges talked to us about the top three causes of interceptions, and one of them is desperately avoiding a sack. That's what I did in my own end zone. It was a horrible decision. But our defense gave us a place to stand, and I told them I was going to finish." Michigan wide receiver Jeremy Gallon … On his big night: "I could never imagine me doing something like this. I just imagine myself coming out and playing for the team, playing my role as a teammate and as a leader and as a senior on this team. "In a game this big, it's not me. It's the rest of the offense. I can't take all the credit. It goes to my teammates as well." Michigan left tackle Taylor Lewan … On the big crowd: "It was good. I think our crowd needs to be louder sometimes. With 115,000 people, when it's third down and our defense is on the field, you shouldn't be able to hear yourself think. But it was an outstanding crowd." Michigan cornerback Blake Countess … On the play of Michigan's defense: "It's a dogfight. We knew it was going to be a dogfight, and we knew we were going to have to keep responding. When our number was called, we responded. "That says a lot about our defense, that we're going to keep playing. Coach Hoke always talks about playing 60 minutes."
