football recruiting ROUNDUP Recruiting Notes • Urbandale, Iowa, four-star wide receiver Allen Lazard is one of the most talented players at his position in the entire country. He made an appearance at Nike's The Opening this summer in Beaverton, Ore., and he will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January. The 6-4, 210-pound prospect has been committed to Iowa State since December, but that could change if the Cyclones continue to struggle on the field. If there is a coaching change at Iowa State, Lazard could end up playing ball in South Bend. 247Sports rates Lazard as the No. 64 overall recruit in the 2014 class, the No. 1 player in Iowa and the No. 6 wide receiver in the land. • Although he's committed to Purdue, Notre Dame remains in great shape with Fort Wayne, Ind., linebacker Drue Tranquill.
