Sky In The Rafters
Former Irish star Skylar Diggins watched as her name was unveiled in
Notre Dame basketball's ring of honor in early November. The programchanging point guard and South Bend native made four All-America
teams and led the Irish to three consecutive Final Four appearances. She
joined Ruth Riley, Austin Carr, Adrian Dantley and Luke Harangody in the
Purcell Pavilion rafters. Next to be hoisted for the program is longtime
head coach Digger Phelps, who will be honored in January.
"I never wanted to leave this gym," Diggins said. "I wanted to be here
forever. And now I have that opportunity."
