Bob Elliott, and informed him of his plans for the BYU game. "I told Coach Elliott that I wanted my commitment to be on a personal level and be genuine and not a phone call," Barnett said. "I wanted to be there in person and to speak with Coach Kelly face to face. "I just have such respect for Coach Kelly, Coach Elliott and the entire staff, and I just figured that it would make the moment that much greater. It couldn't have been more perfect." Barnett also got a chance to meet longtime 2014 commit Justin Brent and the two talked about playing together at the next level. "It was great meeting Justin. He seems real cool," Barnett said. "I'll have to watch some film on him. I heard he's a really good player. He told me that he has heard great things about me and he's looking forward to playing with me. I think we could be quite the team down the road." Barnett has an outgoing personality and wants to make sure that the nation's top prospects in the 2015 class join him at Notre Dame. He's already spoken with fellow commit, offensive tackle Jerry Tillery of Shreveport, La., and he's reached out to the Irish's top center target, Pocatello, Idaho's Tristen Hoge. "I'm definitely going to try and stay in contact with Tristen and a lot of the big receivers that are indecisive and let them know that Notre Dame is the place to be," Barnett said. During his junior season, Barnett completed 165 of 295 passes for 2,332 yards with 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also compiled 700 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. ✦ NOTRE DAME MAN CAVE MATs "Man Cave" ND Mats Available in four sizes!
