  INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MOVING ON • Former Michigan soccer player Fabio Pereira has signed a contract with the Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer. The midfielder was the No. 77 overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. During his U-M career, Pereira ranked second all time with 22 assists and ninth in goals with 13, starting 66 of 79 games. "Fabio is a young player who is skillful and has a nose for goal coming out of the midfield," Sounders coach Sigi Schmid said in a release. "He has good vision and desire. We are excited to add Fabio to our mix." • Junior women's soccer player Christina Murillo will skip the 2014 season to train with Team Mexico in preparation for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. The Ojai, Calif., native will participate in the World Cup June 6-July 5, 2015, and then will rejoin the Maize and Blue for her final collegiate season. In three seasons, Murillo started 57 of 59 games, scoring two goals with eight assists out of a midfield position. "Being selected to play on the world stage is a huge honor, and we're all so happy for Christina," Michigan head coach Greg Ryan said. "When we were recruiting her, we knew that she would have this chance. I was very confident that she would get that opportunity to play. Everyone here is so proud of her. "We will miss her next year here at Michigan, but we want to wish her and Mexico the very best in the 2015 Women's World Cup." ACCOLADES • The Michigan volleyball team will feature one of its most talented incoming recruiting classes in program history after all four of its signees were named to the 2014 Volleyball Magazine's Girls Fab 50 list, ranking the top 50 prospects in the country. Penn State signed a national-best six top-50 players, with U-M, USC and Purdue second in the country with four signees. Wolverines Prep For The NFL Draft Michigan held its annual Pro Day March 12 with 29 NFL teams in attendance to watch 12 former Wolverines compete in a variety of tests. The Maize and Blue participated in vertical jump, standing broad jump, bench press, 40-yard dash, shuttle run, long shuttle and three-cone drill. Offensive tackle Taylor Lewan did not participate in Pro Day after a good perfor- mance at the NFL Combine Feb. 22-25. Measuring in at 6-7, 309 pounds, Lewan clocked a 4.87 40-yard dash to record the best time among the offensive linemen present.
