BASKETBALL RECRUITING ing time and more, for Rivals.com's No. 24 sophomore player. "I would say Syracuse, Illinois, Michigan and Michigan State are probably the ones who are calling the most right now," McIntyre said. • Michigan assistant Bacari Alex- ander watched Detroit U-D Jesuit point guard Cassius Winston, who is Rivals.com's No. 35 sophomore nationally, in March. Winston already lists offers from Michigan State, Iowa, Iowa State and Massachusetts. He said no one stands out to him so far and adds he is just enjoying his high school career, though this is thought to be a Michigan-MSU battle. "I like what Michigan is doing with their program right now," he said. "They are a great school on and off the court and are doing big things. I don't talk to them at all, but they talk to my dad almost every day. We will see what happens." • Michigan assistant LaVall Jor- dan was in Onsted, Mich., Feb. 18 to watch 6-10 sophomore Austin Da- vis and his team play Stockbridge. The visitors won 88-83, but Davis impressed with 51 points and 24 rebounds and what coach Onsted coach Brad Maska estimated to be three or four blocked shots. "We brought him up as a freshman for about five games last year, but he's since grown about four inches," Maska said. "I coached him in eighth grade football and he was 6-4, 270. He was 6-10, 240 pounds at the start of the season." Davis averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds this year and continues to improve. He grew up a Michigan fan. • Medina, Ohio's Jon Teske (6-10, not rated) is still lanky, but he's quickly becoming a high Division I major prospect. He might still be growing, too, since he's only 15 years old. He visited Michigan for the Wolverines' game with Wisconsin and could be in line for an offer this summer. ❑ On The Web For regular reports on basketball recruiting, plus videos of all the top prospects in the nation and Michigan's commitments, visit TheWolverine.com.
