UNDER THE DOME ney ended in a manner opposite an enigma. Moore graduated from Notre Dame in May, attending graduate courses this fall. If he was ruled in- eligible for this fall, Moore's collegiate career would end, with no eligibil- ity remaining. It appears this is what transpired, courtesy of yet another so- cial media post, this time via Moore's Instagram account. "While it is disappointing, I will re- spectfully leave my alma mater as a proud May 2014 graduate of the insti- tution that I have respectfully loved and given my best efforts during my college career," he wrote the afternoon of the Oct. 14. "Regardless of this an- nounced outcome, my personal and ethical integrity remain intact and I have honored my collegiate journey from the beginning straight through to this end and I will take on the next chapters in my life with the same pro- gressive commitment to excellence, hard work and relentless determina- tion toward unlimited success." Kelly finally knows how this riddle ends. Which of the investigated five will he have on the field again? Hardy in. Russell and Williams later. Daniels maybe, maybe not. And Moore, no more. ✦ AUSTIN COLLINSWORTH SIDELINED FOUR TO SIX WEEKS Fifth-year senior safety Austin Collinsworth has been ruled out four to six weeks following a slight labrum tear to his shoulder suffered in the first quarter of the North Carolina game Oct. 11. Although the injury will not require surgery, the healing process will likely go well into November. It is the same shoulder that required surgery in the summer of 2012. That and back surgery that same year sidelined Collinsworth the entire campaign and enabled him to receive the fifth-year medical redshirt this season. Collinsworth returned in 2013 to start 11 games at safety, and in the final week of this August was selected as one of the four team captains. Two days before the Aug. 30 season opener versus Rice, though, he suffered a grade-two MCL strain that sidelined him through September. His first action came in a lim- ited role versus Stanford Oct. 4 before making his initial and brief start, versus the Tar Heels. Attrition has hit the safety position the hardest at Notre Dame this season. In addition to Collinsworth, senior Eilar Hardy is not practicing with the team after the academic fraud hearings, and junior Nicky Baratti has been sidelined a second consecutive season following a shoulder dislocation versus Purdue Sept. 13. Sophomore Max Redfield at free safety and junior Elijah Shu- mate at strong safety have remained mainstays. The lone backup options at this point are senior Matthias Farley — the starting nickel — and freshman Drue Tranquill, who has been projected as a future Sam linebacker but has seen extensive action in Notre Dame's sub packages.
