BY TOM LOY New Orleans John Curtis defensive end Bo Wallace may have just commit- ted to Notre Dame Oct. 12, but he has known that he was going to be Irish ever since he first was offered Feb. 25. "I've always been high on Notre Dame," the 6-4, 215-pounder said. "This is the place that I've always wanted to be. I knew that when they offered, but I knew that I couldn't make a decision then. I didn't want to make it too obvi- ous that I was that into Notre Dame, and it's not like I wanted to lead any other coaches on, but this was always the place for me. Notre Dame was a no- brainer for me." The three-star recruit in the class of 2015 completed his official visit to South Bend Oct. 11. He got a chance to spend time with the coaching staff and the current players, and watched the Irish defeat North Carolina 50-43. "This weekend was great, and I had a lot of fun," Wallace said. "I knew that I was going to commit this weekend before the trip. I was ready to end my recruitment. I was over dealing with the pressure, and I felt like it was the right time. "I wanted to put my focus back on my grades and my team, and stop wor- rying about recruiting. I was ready to make my decision — I wanted to end things. I wanted to be done with the process. I knew where I wanted to be. "I had a meeting with head coach Brian Kelly in his office, and we were just talking. We talked about foot- ball, life and everything. Then, out of nowhere, I told him that I wanted to commit. It was random. He was like, 'Whoa.' He was excited for me. I told him that this was where I wanted to be. "The whole defensive staff was break- ing down film from the North Carolina game at the time, so we went down there. I stopped into the meeting room and told them that I just committed. They all went nuts and congratulated me and said that I made a great deci- sion. It was a great moment." Louisiana Standout Makes "No-Brainer" Decision To Be Irish Although Wallace is committed to play defensive end at Notre Dame, 247Sports ranks him as the No. 28 outside linebacker in the country and the No. 18 prospect in Louisiana.
