Prior to making his pledge known to the Irish coaching staff, Wallace called his mother and informed her that he was about to make a life-changing de- cision. "I called her up and let her know that I was going to commit to Notre Dame in a few minutes," he said. "I told her that this is what I wanted. "I was talking to her about the timing and making sure it was the right time. I knew that at any time some recruit could commit and take my place, and then I would have been out of luck. "She just told me to trust myself and make the best decision for me. If Notre Dame is what I want then do it and commit. That's exactly what I did." After the Irish victory, Wallace got to- gether with some of the current players on Notre Dame's roster. They all went out and grabbed some food, and Wal- lace took this opportunity to make sure FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Bo Wallace is exactly what the Irish are looking for in a speed rusher … He has a terrific burst off the edge, and is athletic enough to play defen- sive end and linebacker … His tall, long frame that will allow him to easily put on weight at the next level … He's tough and physical with a great motor, but is also very smooth and fluid … Has a variety of moves when rushing the passer … Displays above average speed … Praised for his work ethic and leadership qualities. Areas For Improvement Wallace's size, strength and weight need to increase before he earns significant reps at the collegiate level … He is a likely redshirt candidate based on size alone … Struggles against athletes with more mass due to current size … Needs to improve in his knowledge of the defensive end position and the nuances of the game. — Tom Loy
