AROUND THE GROUNDS NUMBERS 2 top goal scorers in ACC field hockey at the end of the regular season hail from the Cavaliers — Tara Vittese, who led the league with 17, and CALEIGH FOUST, who was tied for second with 13. Both ranked in the nation's top 35 for goals per game, and the team entered the ACC Tournament as the conference co-champions and No. 1 seed. 3.50 goals per game average of the No. 3 women's soccer team, which led the ACC and ranked second nationally through Nov. 2. 4 straight years that the Cavaliers' varsity eight has earned the title as the top collegiate boat in the Championship Eights at the Prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston. UVa finished behind only non-college crews made up of national team members with Olympic and world champion experience. 7 letter winners return to the women's basketball team, including 2014 ACC Sixth Player of the Year, Faith Randolph, plus the squad adds a top-15 recruit- ing class. 8 th was Virginia baseball's highest-ranked recruiting class (2005 and 2011) accord- ing to Baseball America until this year's group of newcomers was ranked second. 13 Tackles for loss recorded by third-year defen- sive end Eli Harold, which led the ACC and was 17th nationally through Nov. 1. 89 Tackles through nine games for first- year safety Quin Blanding, which led the team and was 22nd nationally.
