INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Sitting Down With Michigan Assistant Basketball Coach Bacari Alexander M ichigan assistant basketball coach Bacari Alexander has found himself in the middle of Michigan's amazing success over the past two years, including a trip to the NCAA title game and an Elite Eight spot. He spoke about the Wolverines and their retooling job this year. The Wolverine: What did Jordan Morgan know as a fifth-year se - nior that your younger big men will have to learn? Al ex a n d e r: " Th e r u l e s o f re - bounding. Jordan Morgan, if you look back early in his career as a redshir t freshman, in those first six to 10 games in the Big Ten, he was one of the tops in our league in offensive rebounding. He un- derstood when Tim Hardaway Jr. was shooting a shot on one side of the floor, how to get to the other and get a weakside wedge and air time, as the ball was traveling from the fingertips to the basket. "He understood the importance of not dwelling on a missed chippy and retrieving that rebound for us. He knew all of those different things as a fifth-year senior that these guys are learning on a daily basis." The Wolverine: How often do you think about the shot that Ken- tucky made to win the regional Alexander, who is in his fifth season as an assistant at U-M, is one of the program's top recruiters and is charged with coaching the Maize and Blue's post players.
