M ichigan senior defensive end Frank Clark is a Wolverine no more. His season ended the week- end before the Wolverines were to face Maryland in the Big Ten home finale after he was arrested Nov. 15 and held in jail near Sandusky, Ohio, charged with one count of misde- meanor domestic violence and one count of assault. The charge stemmed from an alleged fight with his live-in girlfriend inside an Ohio hotel room. The Sandusky Register reported that witnesses allegedly told Perkins Township, Ohio, police officer Martin Curran that Clark punched his girl- friend in the face, breaking a hotel room lamp as she fell. "The victim's brother, who'd just emerged from the hotel room shower at the time, reportedly saw Clark grab the victim by her neck and slam her to the ground," the newspaper reported. "At one point, the woman said Clark pinned her to the bed, prompting her to bite his nose in an attempt to get him off." Clark pled not guilty at a hearing at the Sandusky Municipal Court, but head coach Brady Hoke said he had no choice but to dismiss him after hearing the facts of the case. According to the report, Clark told officers he didn't touch the woman, saying she was having "crazy fits" and may be pregnant. The woman declined to go to the hospital for her injuries and said she did not want to press charges, according to the police report. "What was reported … is unac- ceptable, is not what we want here, associated with our program," Hoke said. "Domestic abuse is tragic.
