INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS "I've had practices like that where Coach [John] Beilein will have to stop and say a couple times, 'Max can shoot — you've got to get up on him!' — but nothing in game like that, so it's exciting. But we have a lot of good bigs. I'm try- ing to show Coach I'm not the same guy I was the last couple years. I do some things the other guys can't, and they do some things I can't, but together we all make a pretty good attack." — Senior big man Max Bielfeldt after making three three-pointers and scor- ing a career-high 18 points in a Nov. 17, 77-53 win over Bucknell "You can feel the energy, and I know our players do, too. One of our assis- tants, Erin Virtue, played at Illinois, and she said this is one of the toughest places to play when it's full. So having that kind of support is awesome." — Michigan volleyball coach Mark Rosen after his Wolverines beat No. 17 Ohio State in four sets Nov. 15. The Wol- verines improved to 8-4 at home. MAIZE AND BLUE NOTEBOOK CARIS LEVERT ON LUTE OLSON LIST Michigan junior guard Caris LeVert garnered another award spotlight just be- fore his team began the regular season. LeVert was selected to the Lute Olson preseason All-America team and named to the watch list for the Lute Olson National Player of the Year Award. The Lute Olson Award goes to the nation's top Division I player who has spent at least two seasons with his team.
