Arkansas AD Jeff Long: Long spent a decade at Michigan (1990-2000) as an associate athletic director. He moved on to become the athletic director at Eastern Kentucky, a senior as- sociate AD at Oklahoma and the athletic director at Pittsburgh before taking over as Arkansas' AD in 2008. He knows Michigan athletics well and has had to make some high-profile coaching hires in his time with the Razorbacks. UConn AD Warde Manuel: The former Michigan football player spent 14 years in the U-M athletic department prior to taking the AD job at Buffalo. Manuel oversaw some break- throughs at Buffalo, including a Mid-American Conference football championship and the program's first bowl appear- ance, before becoming AD at UConn in 2012. His first year there saw the Huskies' women's basketball team win the NCAA championship. Last spring, the men's and women's basketball teams swept the national titles. Northwestern AD Jim Phillips: Phillips has spearheaded efforts to overhaul the athletics facilities at Northwestern and upgrade fundraising efforts for athletics. He has worked in Notre Dame's athletic department, and in 2007 earned the General Robert R. Neyland Outstanding Athletic Director of the Year Award at Northern Illinois. Central Michigan AD Dave Heeke: Heeke worked his way up through 18 years at the University of Oregon and is highly thought of at CMU. He's a member of the NCAA Division I Base- ball Committee and the Division I Football Issues Committee, serving as chair of the football committee in 2012-13. Dartmouth AD Harry Sheehy: Sheehy led Div. III Williams College to 17 national championships in 10 years as ath- letic director and has been at Dartmouth five years. He instituted the Dartmouth Peak Performance initiative, designed to produce in student-athletes the optimum levels of physical, intellectual and personal growth during their careers. Boston College AD Brad Bates: The former U-M football player has been widely speculated about with regard to returning to Ann Arbor, and has publicly noted he plans to be at Boston Col- lege for a "long time." Bates spent 10 years directing Miami of Ohio's athletics program before moving on to Boston College. — John Borton
