BASKETBALL RECRUITING you for your talent," Winston said. "It is always a little motivation out there. "Michigan has a good coaching staff, and they are almost like fam‑ ily. I'm real comfortable with the coaches there. The playing styles with Michigan and Michigan State are different, and the coaching styles are different. They are just two dif‑ ferent programs, but they are both really good programs." Winston half‑joked that his friends and family provide a slanted view on what he should do for college. "There is a little bit of pressure that people want me to represent Michi‑ gan [and attend U‑M or MSU], but I am just going to take my time and do what is best for me," Winston said. Winston said he talks to current Wolverines sophomore point guard Derrick Walton Jr., who attended De‑ troit Chandler Park Academy. "I grew up with some of the Michi‑ gan guys like Derrick Walton," Win‑ ston said. "I'm pretty comfortable with him. It would be a good expe‑ rience to play with him, and he's a great player. I probably could learn a lot of things from him." He noticed Beilein and Jordan watching him against the St. Louis Eagles. "Coach Beilein is a cool guy," Win‑ ston said. "I think they are going to be a pretty good team next year and for the years to come." CLASS OF 2016 NOTES • Four-star shooting guard Josh Lang- ford of Madison (Ala.) Academy (6-6, Rivals.com's No. 18 junior nationally) recently told Rivals.com that Georgia and South Carolina were recruiting him the hardest. He remains a Michi- gan target. • Campbellsville (Ky.) Taylor County four-star point guard Quentin Goodin is probably favoring Florida and Lou- isville, but still hears from Michigan. He's Rivals.com's No. 62 junior nation- ally and suiting up for Hoop Dreams, an Adidas-sponsored AAU team based in Lexington, Ky. "Minnesota, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio State, and maybe Michigan are the schools we're hearing from the most," his father, Chris, said in late March. "Lou- isville is very involved as well. It's been a little while since I've personally heard from Michigan, but I think they've been talking to Quentin a little bit. There hasn't been a lot of contact, but there's been some. They came to watch a prac- tice earlier this season, but it's probably been a month or so." • U-M 2016 point guard target Jamal Murray of Kitchener Athlete Institute in Ontario, Canada, Rivals.com's No. 16 junior, poured in 30 points and was named game MVP in leading the World Team to a 103-101 victory over the USA in the Nike Hoop Summit April 10. The 6-5 standout shot 12 of 22 and added five assists to lead the World Team. ❑ On The Web For regular reports on basketball recruiting, plus videos of all the top prospects in the nation and Michigan's commitments, visit TheWolverine.com.
