Defense Rush Defensive End: Redshirt freshman Lawrence Marshall 6-4 238 pounds Marshall went from a guy who had trouble with the playbook early in the spring to a dependable pass rusher by the spring game, when he notched a sack and an assisted tackle for loss among his three stops. He has a high ceiling and hopes to be 255 pounds by the fall. Backup: Senior Mario Ojemudia Defensive End: Redshirt junior Willie Henry 6-2, 311 pounds Henry notched four tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss in the spring game after emerging as one of Michigan's most dependable run stoppers last year. He has started 12 games in his career and continues to improve. Backup: Redshirt sophomore Maurice Hurst Nose Tackle: Sophomore Bryan Mone 6-4, 325 pounds Mone has been talked about as a difference maker at the nose in a 3-4 defense, someone who will command double teams and clog the middle against the run. He's got the frame — does he have the mentality to do it on every down? Backup: Redshirt junior Ryan Glasgow Defensive End: Redshirt junior Chris Wormley 6-4, 300 pounds Called one of Michigan's best players by head coach Jim Harbaugh, Worm- ley has blossomed with hard work in the weight room and could be the pass rusher on the interior the Wolverines have been lacking. He's also been better against the run and boasts All-Big Ten potential if he's consistent. Backup: Junior Taco Charlton Strongside Outside Linebacker: Senior James Ross III 6-1, 232 pounds Ross has yet to live up to his lofty potential, but he did show signs of it two years ago in notching 85 tackles and 5.5 stops for loss. He did not play in the spring game due to injury. Backup: Redshirt junior Allen Gant Middle Linebacker: Senior Joe Bolden 6-3, 232 pounds Bolden was the defensive star of the spring game in notching 13 tackles, including three tackles for loss and a sack.
