"I have decided to transfer from the University of Virginia. I would like to thank Coach London, Coach Fairchild and the rest of the UVa coaching staff for allowing me to play the sport I love and receive my degree from such a wonderful univer- sity. … The last 3.5 years at UVa have taught me a lot, and the experiences and people that I have been blessed enough to come across have helped mold me and will stay with throughout the rest of my life. God Bless and Go Hoos!" — Former UVa quarterback Greyson Lambert announcing "the hardest decision of my life" May 16 via Twitter; he received his release and will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer with two years left to play; as part of his release, he can't go to another ACC school or anybody on the Cavs' 2015 or 2016 schedule "This is another steal. Harold is the No. 34 player on our board. He lacks polish and needs to improve as a tackler, but he has a high upside as a pass rusher and is worth taking a chance on at this point in the draft. He has very good physical tools and could provide the 49ers with an impact edge rusher." — ESPN's Todd McShay, who named former Cavalier Eli Harold as one of the best picks during day two of the NFL Draft. Harold came off the board with the 15th pick of the third round, 79th overall. "Virginia was a good fit for what Charlie was looking for in terms of a graduate school program, and we think he can be an asset to our tight end position and run blocking game. I like his maturity and what he will bring to our team from being part of a very successful Stanford program." — Football coach Mike London on the addition of Stanford graduate transfer tight end Charlie Hopkins, who appeared in three games last year and all 14 contests in 2013; the former defensive end changed position prior to the 2013 campaign and has made two career receptions HOO'S TALKING ◆ June 7, 2009 — The Cavs clinch their first trip to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., with a 5-1 win over Ole Miss in the Oxford Super Regional. The Virginia baseball team has quali- fied for Omaha three times in its history (also doing so in 2011 and 2014). ◆ June 7-9, 2010 — The Cavaliers produced a school-record nine draft picks in the Major League First-Year Player Draft. Center fielder Jarrett Parker was first to come off the board — in the second round with the 74th overall selection. UVA HISTORY PHOTO COURTESY UVA
