is his time. He's been a little bit of a
late bloomer. Even though we saw
really good parts of his freshman and
sophomore year, it's taken him time
to get everything together. We've
seen flashes, and you want more all
the time, and I think this will be the
year he delivers."
The 6‑3, 200‑pound Nieves was
an honorable mention CCHA All‑
Rookie Team selection in 2012‑13
after registering 29 points on eight
goals and 21 assists. He was expected
to blossom into a top‑six forward for
the Wolverines in his sophomore
year, but after scoring a goal in the
Nieves scored just 18 goals and aver-
aged only 26 points per season his first
three years as a Wolverine.
