Fuller hauling in a 17-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback De- Shone Kizer with 2:09 left in the con- test. It marked Notre Dame's third fourth-quarter, come-from-behind vic- tory of the season, all of which came with Kizer at quarterback. The Irish trailed Virginia 27-26 before Kizer hit Fuller with a 39-yard touchdown strike with 12 seconds left in the game. USC had the Irish down 31-24 in the fourth quarter, but Notre Dame outscored the Trojans 17-0 in the final frame. The Irish played to a second half 10-10 draw against an Owls team that had outscored its seven previous op- ponents 137-29 over the final 30 min- utes. CONTROLLING THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE Notre Dame outgained the Owls 467-295 in total yards, and the Irish defense shut down Temple for long stretches of the game.
