With Temple junior running back Jahad Thomas unable to get anything going between the tackles, the Irish linebackers were able to flow hard outside and keep him contained. Thomas entered the contest ranked fourth nationally in all-purpose yards (175.0 per game), but the Irish were able to keep him in check and limit him to just 82 total yards, 39 of which came on one play.
