During Pitt's 6-2 start this year,
seven of the eight contests were de-
cided by a one-score count. The lone
exception was the 24-7 victory versus
Akron Sept. 12.
The Panthers began October with a
26-19 victory against Virginia — a foe
Notre Dame also defeated by seven
points (34-27) — and it capped the
month with a 26-19 defeat to North
Carolina Oct. 29.
It's a prelude to facing Notre Dame
head coach Brian Kelly — and the
Fighting Irish in general. Since 2007,
when Notre Dame and/or Kelly faces
Pitt the game has always come down
to the closing minutes:
