PREP PROFILES Following a visit for Notre Dame's 41-31 home win over USC Oct. 17, two schools stand out early for Na- perville (Ill.) Neuqua Valley junior Isaiah Robertson. The Chicago-area four-star wide receiver said Michigan State and the Irish are at the top of his list early in his re- cruiting process. " T h e y ' re re a l l y the ones sticking out right now," Robert- son said. "Those are the two visits I've been on this fall, and just the atmo- sphere and the way those schools carry themselves, I'm very interested in them. The three things I look for — a quality education, a family atmosphere and a winning en- vironment — I've seen them in both of those schools. "They can offer me something be- yond just my four years there." The 6-2, 185-pound prospect said he's communicated some with Notre Dame wide receivers coach Mike Den- brock via Twitter, and received sev- eral letters this fall welcoming him to check out an Irish home game. When the invitation arrived for the contest against rival USC, Robertson said he and his father knew they had to make the 90-minute road trip to South Bend. "The visit was great," Robertson said. "From the moment I walked in there, everything was first class. All of it was orderly and neat. The facilities were nice, the fans were amazing — I could tell they really love their school. "And the game was amazing; it was definitely one of the better games I've been to. There was a lot of energy in the stadium, and it was a big rivalry game. " W h e n w e g o t there, there was this large tent like a cov- ered room. We ate, played video games, took pictures with the jerseys and hel- mets, and watched other college foot- ball games. After that we went on a tour inside the Gug, saw the weight rooms, locker rooms and everything. We watched a video about the team, then we walked all the way to the stadium and watched the game." In addition to his two early stand- outs, Robertson had heard from Ten- nessee and Penn State prior to his Notre Dame visit, and said Maryland is in touch regularly. Minnesota was his most recent scholarship offer, join- ing a list that includes Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois, among others. Through the first eight games for Neuqua Valley (6-2), Robertson had snagged 35 passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns. — Jordan Wells Chicago-Area Receiver Favors Irish ISAIAH ROBERTSON ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Neuqua Valley High School Naperville, Ill.
