Meanwhile, the Notre Dame men finished in sixth place (147 points). Both squads will take part in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Nov. 13 in Madison, Wis. WOMEN'S SOCCER (12-4-1, 6-4-0 ACC) The No. 15 Irish closed the regular season with a 3-0 home victory over Virginia Tech Oct. 30. The Irish finished 6-4-0 in the ACC, one game out of a spot in the four-team league tournament. The next time they take the field will be in the first round of the NCAA Championship Nov. 13 or 14. MEN'S SOCCER (9-3-5, 4-2-2 ACC) The No. 14 Irish completed regular-season play by defeating Pittsburgh 5-0 on Senior Day Oct. 31. Notre Dame earned the No. 4 seed in the ACC Tournament and was slated to host No. 5 seed Virginia in the quarterfinals Nov. 8. HOCKEY (3-1-2) Notre Dame hit the road to sweep UConn by scores of 2-1 Oct. 31 and 8-2 Nov. 1. The Irish began a four-game homestand with back-to-back games against Minnesota Nov. 6-7. VOLLEYBALL (6-18) The Irish suffered road losses at NC State (3-2) Oct. 30 and at North Carolina (3-1) Nov. 1. They returned to South Bend to face Virginia Tech Nov. 6 and Pittsburgh Nov. 8. SWIMMING The men's and women's teams both defeated Michigan State in a home dual meet Oct. 30, with the women winning 158-80 and the men prevailing 174-69. The women traveled the next day to a triple-dual meet at Purdue, falling 169-123 to the Boilermakers and 176-113 to Ohio State. Both teams headed to Christiansburg, Va., for a triple-dual meet with Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh Nov. 6-7. — Jordan Wells
