He is an example of some- one I want to be like in adulthood. Fans never talk about the strength coaches, only the head coaches, coordinators and players. He has taught me that being an active participant in society is never an easy job, but it is a job of utmost importance. He's taught me that life will never get easier and the more you prepare the better your outcomes will be." Many individuals help prepare us for life after college; however, coaches provide clear expectations, causing student-athletes to hold themselves accountable. I know now from my coaches that what I do when people aren't look- ing and the minor details are what is most im- portant. When I go into work every day my employer will know I am dedicated and they will know I am hardworking because of my focus and the importance I place on attention to detail. It is indisputable that coaches do more than instruct, they mold their student-athletes into well-rounded individuals who will be suc- cessful after college. INTERNSHIPS BY SADIQ OLANREWAJU We all agreed that one of the most valuable effects of our internship is the experience of being in a workplace. The VAF is a complex organization with a variety of operations taking place simultaneously. Aimee, Harry, and I have the privilege of learning from professionals in each area and sitting in on influential meetings. One day we could be learning about adminis- trative operations and the next about account- ing operations, special events or fundraising. Harry expressed his aspirations of working in sports noting, "The skill sets I gain on a daily basis are impossible to attain without an office internship, specifically an internship such as the VAF." Much like Harry, I feel that the hands-on experience I receive at the VAF makes me a
