on paper, but he made the biggest impact on the program. I've been coaching 16 years and I don't know many people like him." Jon made many contributions to the program. Athletically, he accomplished what few guys have been able to do by qualifying for four NCAA Championships. Aca- demically, Jon became the first Virginia wrestler to be named to the NWCA All-Academic Team four times. However, what his teammates and coaches remember is the value he placed on foster- ing relationships. Jon made it his personal mission to make sure the younger guys felt loved. He would take the time to learn their story and what made them tick. In Jon's own words, "I enjoyed being able to share what I had and share what I didn't have as well, so the younger guys could benefit and help create an environment in which they could flourish." This humble attitude and philosophy on life, accompanied by his hard work, presented him with the opportunity to attend Yale's Physician Associate School alongside his wife Cammie Genda Fausey. Similar to the way he has helped his teammates, Jon continues to utilize this selfless philosophy daily, constantly working to put both his wife and his patients before himself. Recently, Jon spent the month of October doing a residency in Hawaii where he could also support his wife in the Ironman World Championships. Thomas Jefferson's philosophy on continued education provides a lens into Jon's life. Jon believes he is constantly learning, developing and tweaking things to better himself and those around him. He understands life is a learning process, one that would not have been possible without the Virginia Ath- letics Foundation. This is predominantly why Jon continues to give back. He says, "Virginia athletics is one of the sole reasons he is where he is today. He couldn't partake in such a great atmosphere at the University of Virginia, if it weren't for the generous hands and hearts, time and energy of the donors, staff, coaches and all the people involved in Charlottesville and UVA athletics. Giving back creates a habit for life because we recognize how it affected our own education, athletic experience and learning while at the University."
