UNDER THE DOME Getting To Know … JUNIOR OFFENSIVE TACKLE MIKE MCGLINCHEY Nickname: "Glinch, it's just short for my last name." Dorm: "Siegfried Hall." Major: "Film & television, with a concentration on television." Favorite TV show: "'Game of Thrones.' It has everything you need in a show." Favorite place around South Bend to eat: "The O-line, we like to go to Bruno's. We're huge chicken parm fans. We have a contest to see who can eat the most." Favorite sports movie: "'Remember the Titans.'" Toughest player you've played against: "The guys on our team — Shel- don Day, Isaac Rochell, Romeo Okwara — those guys are all great." Favorite pregame music: "The one song before every game is 'Thunderstruck' by AC/DC." Favorite part of playing for Notre Dame: "The guys in the locker room. It's a special place playing with these guys here; it's a great honor." Usually at this time of the year, discussion begins to turn to who will apply for a fifth year of eligibility. Among fourth-year seniors, there are eight play- ers eligible to apply for a fifth. Alphabetically they are: safety Nicky Baratti, long snapper Scott Daly, offensive lineman Mark Har- rell, nose guard Jarron Jones, running back C.J. Prosise, cornerback KeiVarae Russell, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and safety John Turner. However, Stanley, a projected first- round pick, definitely will turn pro, and Prosise and Russell could as well. More intriguing is there also will be three players who plan to petition for a sixth season of eligibility in 2016: line- backer Jarrett Grace, tight end Chase Hounshell and safety Avery Sebastian. The NCAA requires documentation that shows two full years were missed because of medical reasons. Grace missed all of 2014 with a shattered leg, but he redshirted as a 2011 freshman while traveling some with the team. The cases of Hounshell and Sebastian would be more cut and dry. Hounshell sat out both 2012 and 2013 because of a torn labrum that necessitated surgery. Sebastian, a transfer from Cal, missed all but the opener in 2013 be- cause of an injury. This year at Notre Dame, he was injured on special teams in the opener versus Texas and has not played since then. Sebastian has been cleared to prac- tice, but head coach Brian Kelly said he won't burn his potential sixth year of eligibility unless there is in an emer- gency. "If we need to play him because we need to win games, we're going to play him," Kelly said of Sebastian the week of the Wake Forest game. "But I'm not going to run him down on the kickoff team. We would preserve his year unless he needs to go in there and start for us and help us win these last three games." TAKING THE SIXTH JARRETT GRACE
