nents averaging just 2.2 yards per carry (first na-
tionally) and rushing for just five touchdowns (tied
for second). The Eagles have held seven of their 10
opponents to fewer than 100 yards, including limit-
ing Florida State running back Dalvin Cook — the
nation's No. 8 rusher — to a season-low 54 rushing
yards.
The ability to create negatives has fueled BC's rush
defense. It ranked first nationally with 98 tackles
for loss through 10 contests — led by senior line-
backer Steven Daniels, who stood 11th nationally
in tackles for loss with 15. In fact, the Eagles have
four defensive players that ranked in the top 50 in
that category.
Notre Dame's ground game has fueled its offense,
ranking 18th nationally in rushing with 220.6 yards
