Updated: Williams Makes Case To Join Best One-Year Wonders For The Wolverine 2004 F o o t b a l l P r e v i e w, w e ranked the top one-year wonders in the previous 25 years, a list that began with tailback Jon Vaughn in 1990 and included wide re- ceiver Yale Van Dyne (1991), linebacker Brian Townsend (1991), offensive guard Da- mon Denson (1996) and wide receiver Ken Higgins (1986). With a trove of per for- mances to sift through over the past 12 seasons, we look at where senior tight end A.J. Williams ranks. 1. DE Rondell Biggs, 2006: In three seasons prior to his senior year, Biggs started five games but produced little — just one tackle for loss among 17 total stops. In his final season, starting opposite All-American LaMarr Wood- ley, the 6-3, 278-pound de- fensive end recorded six sacks among eight tackles for loss. 2. CB James Ro gers, 2010: A cornerback, then a wide receiver before moving back to defensive back, Rogers had 15 tack- les in his first three seasons while catching three balls Biggs entered his final campaign with 17 tackles, including one for loss, before notching eight stops behind the line of scrimmage and six sacks during his senior year.
