Michigan's Best Rushing Receivers Of All Time With rushing touchdowns of 36 and 66 yards this season, redshirt junior Jehu Chesson is one of only four wide receivers in program history to score two rushing TDs in a career. Here is a look at the receivers that best distinguished themselves in the running game. 1. Calvin Bell, 2000-03: Most would probably expect this list to start with Anthony Carter, Desmond Howard or Steve Breaston, but no Wolverine receiver can match Bell's four career rushing touchdowns. Bell is the only wideout to score three TDs on the ground in one season (2001), and he averaged 13.1 yards on 18 career carries, with four rushes of 20 yards or more. 2. Charles Woodson, 1995-97: Ad- mittedly exploiting a loophole, but Calvin Bell, who played at Michigan from 2000-03, leads all U-M wideouts with four rushing touchdowns in his career; he is the only Wolverine receiver to tally three scores on the ground in the same season. PHOTO BY JOEL HAKKEN kind of guys he likes are the guys that work hard and don't ask for much. It's not about them. "Coach Harbaugh, it's not about him. You hear so much about him, but he really doesn't care about the pub- licity. All he wants to do is do his job, and that's all I want to do, too. "The only thing I care about is my team, and he's a similar way. I think that's why we get along." With his coach's trust, Chesson should continue to play an important role for the Maize and Blue the rest of the season and the remainder of his college career. "It feels good to go out there and have the guys count on you to do your job, and then it feels good when you actually do your job and do it the right way," said Chesson, deflect- ing talk of the future to focus on the present. "We really don't applaud people for doing their job, but in certain situ- ations when plays are made, Coach Harbaugh will commend you for something. At the same time, it's on to the next play because that's the most important play." ❏
