MICHIGAN FOOTBALL ris, who is redshirting this fall, and true freshman Alex Malzone — may explore transfer options after the season. Michigan will say goodbye to grad-senior Jake Rudock, but will also return John O'Korn for his redshirt junior season, Zach Gentry for his redshirt fresh- man campaign and Wilton Speight for his redshirt sopho- more year, and welcome true freshmen Brandon Peters and Victor Viramontes. Plus, there are rumors of a po- tential graduate-transfer from BYU quarterback Taysom Hill. • O'Korn, who had 16 starts in his two seasons at Houston before transferring to U-M, re- mains the frontrunner to start under center in 2016, while Gentr y, Speight and Morris figure to be his top challeng- ers. Gentry, an excellent ath- lete, could move to tight end down the road, but likely not until 2017 or 2018 at the earli- est, if it appears he will not be the starting quarterback in his career at Michigan. • Michigan may have only one senior — center Graham Glasgow — drafted in 2016, but NFL scouts believe there could be 8-10 players selected in 2017: cornerback Jourdan Lewis (rounds 1-2), tight end Jake Butt (rounds 1-2), defensive end Willie Henry (rounds 2-3), defensive end Chris Wormley (rounds 2-3), left guard Ben Braden (rounds 3-5), receiver Jehu Chesson (rounds 3-5), receiver Amara Darboh (rounds 4-6), cornerback Jeremy Clark (rounds 4-6) and right guard Kyle Kalis (rounds 4-6). Defensive back Jabrill Peppers would also be draft eligible for the first time in 2017. O'Korn is the favorite to start under center next year, but Michigan's quarterback roster could be a fluid situation. PHOTO BY PER KJELDSEN
