56 ■ THE WOLFPACKER in," Cody said. "Working on my floater has really paid off. I have proven to my teammates and coaches that I can make it." Gottfried has noticed Cody logging the extra time in the gym. "He is the last guy to leave just about every day," the coach said. "He is staying after practice and working on certain things. He is very diligent on what he is trying to improve upon. "He is not out here shooting just random shots. I think that is why we have seen a lot of improvement from him." Caleb's shooting form will still need some minor repairs this offseason, but Gottfried said it's "getting there." "As a coach, you can always critique players, and we dissect their shots," he said. "I still think there are some things he can still get better at, but overall it's much better than when he was as a freshman." Competition will be more intense next year with a healthy Henderson, plus the Martin twins, freshmen Maverick Rowan and Shaun Kirk and Charlotte transfer To- rin Dorn, a redshirting sophomore, in the mix. The twins look forward to getting more wins and a chance at returning to the NCAA Tournament. The Wolfpack would likely have to win the ACC Tournament in Wash- ington, D.C., to earn a spot in the Big Dance this season. "I'm always one to work on things re- gardless, and there are plenty of things I need to work on," Cody said. Caleb is always thinking about what he wants to work on down the road. What will likely stay for the future are the Martin twins' beards. "It's hard to change up midseason, but it is more over the summer," Caleb said. "I have a bunch that is going through my mind, but not that I can do right now. I'm just try- ing to perfect what I'm doing now. "Everybody is going to get that much better, and we'll have new people coming in like Terry Henderson being at 100 per- cent." ■ Cody Martin averaged 8.8 points a contest and shot 56.9 percent in his first 10 games after being inserted into the starting lineup.
