10 ■ THE WOLFPACKER This signing day marked my fourth signing class at NC State, and I believe that we did a great job at getting a very special group of players. Every player we signed has something unique about them that will help us reach our end goal of winning championships. Even though we were a young team in 2015, we lost some players at critical positions. We have underclassmen in our program that I believe will step up and take control of those spots. My goal for this class was for us to find unique athletes that fit our system. We put an emphasis on getting longer in size. (As you know, you can't teach length!) So we looked for athletes that had the metrics that will make us different. The challenge with that is that every program in the country is looking for long, athletic football players. All the credit goes to my great staff for finding the right guys and doggedly recruiting them all the way to signing day. It was a long, hard four-week grind, but in the end, we signed a class that I am extremely proud of. We have 10 players from this class who are already on campus. It is a great opportunity for these guys to get a semester of school under their belts as well as getting a head start in our strength and conditioning program. I look forward to working with these players this spring. This spring, not only will it be important for us to continue to develop our fundamen- tals, but it will be also be a time of learning, especially for our offense. Our new offensive coordinator, Eliah Drinkwitz, has been hard at work with our offensive staff retooling our offense, and I know the players have been hard at work with their new playbooks. I am excited to see how our offense attacks this spring. These spring practices will also be a great time for the players who redshirted last season to get into the rotation. They have put in a lot of work in the weight room and are excited to finally get the opportunity to earn some playing time. We hold our first of 15 workouts Tuesday, March 1 and will practice for a week before spring break. Then we will come back and work up until the Kay Yow Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. I look forward to seeing the entire Wolfpack Nation out in Carter-Finley. 1Pack1Goal, Coach Doeren ■ From Head Football Coach Dave Doeren Doeren's fourth signing class at NC State is full of unique athletes that fit his system and provide the team with an infusion of length.
