ND SPORTS over No. 8 Maryland March 5 in Orange County, Calif. They Irish were slated to host No. 2 Denver — the team they fell to in the national semifinals a year ago — March 13. WOMEN'S LACROSSE (5-1) The No. 4 Irish won their first five games of the season before falling 10-9 in double overtime at No. 11 Louisville March 5. Notre Dame next traveled to Blacksburg, Va., for matchups against Virginia Tech March 8 and Liberty March 9. SOFTBALL (16-3) No. 21 Notre Dame rode an eight-game winning streak into March, then extended that stretch to 12 straight with wins over Stony Brook (4-3) and Florida Gulf Coast (6-1) March 5, and victories over Stony Brook (7-0) and Ball State (7-1) March 6. The Irish were scheduled to take on Florida International in a two-game series March 9 in Miami. SWIMMING & DIVING The Irish traveled to the ACC Championships Feb. 24-27 in Greensboro, N.C., with the men and women's teams both placing seventh overall. The 400 freestyle relay highlighted the men's side, finish- ing second overall (2:52.18) to advance to the NCAA Championships. Freshman freestyler Ella Moynihan will represent the women's team in the 200 free after splitting a 1:45.46 as the first leg of the team's 800 free relay. The NCAA Championships were scheduled to take place March 17-19 in Atlanta. MEN'S TENNIS (8-6) No. 41 Notre Dame blanked Boston College 7-0 March 3 in Boston, before earning a 5-2 home win over Louisville March 6. They next headed to Clemson for a March 11 road tilt. WOMEN'S TENNIS (8-5) The No. 31 Irish fell 5-2 at No. 21 Miami March 6, before heading to Puerto Rico March 8 for two matchups against East Carolina and LIU Brooklyn. Notre Dame returns home to host Wake Forest March 18. TRACK & FIELD The women's team finished third overall at the ACC Indoor Championships Feb. 25-27 in Boston, high- lighted by a pair of one-two finishes from senior Molly Seidel and freshman Anna Rohrer in the 3,000- and 5,000-meter events. The men's squad earned seventh, including a first-place finish and new school record from junior Nathan Richartz in the pole vault (17-11). The NCAA Indoor Championships were schedule for March 11-12 in Birmingham, Ala. — Jordan Wells
