UNDER THE DOME EVERETT GOLSON TO RETURN TO SOUTH BEND Former Irish quarterback Everett Golson will return to Notre Dame March 31 to participate in the school's pro day for NFL prospects. Golson, who transferred last summer to Florida State for his fifth season of eligibility, debated between the two programs to determine the best destina‑ tion for his pro day. As a sophomore, Golson led the Irish to a 12‑1 campaign and BCS National Championship Game berth. The following spring, he was suspended for the 2013 season due to an academic transgression before returning to South Bend CHARTING THE IRISH IRISH AT THE COMBINE An item that remains intriguing about the measurements gathered at the NFL Com- bine is the consistency they provide. The tests are conducted in the same conditions for everyone, delivering an accurate side-by-side comparison of each athlete — even if the drills don't include pads. Therefore, it is entertaining to compare recent results of Irish stars side by side. For example, Notre Dame's all-time leading rusher and current running backs coach Autry Denson ran a 4.67 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in 1999 — almost a full two-tenths of a second slower than C.J. Prosise's 4.48 at this year's event. Here's a look at Prosise's and wide receiver Will Fuller's results in the 40 compared to some other Notre Dame stars since 1999, according to NFLCombineResults.com.
