At its Nov. 20, 2015 meeting, the Virginia Athletics Foundation elected officers for the 2016 Board of Trustees. Mr. Bill Tyson of Richmond, Va., will serve as president, Mr. Alan McClure of Atlanta, Ga., vice president and Mr. Scott Dockter of Atlanta, Ga., immediate past president. Mr. W. Heywood Fralin of Roa- noke, Va., will serve as the newest member of the Board, having been appointed to a four-year term as the Univer- sity's Board of Visitors repre- sentative. The Foundation recognized retiring Board members Mr. Bart Farinholt and Mr. Ron Carey, both from Richmond, Va. Mr. Farin- holt, who served as Board president in 2013, completed his tenure after serving 11 years on the Board. Mr. Ron Carey completed his second, three-year term on Dec. 31, 2015. Members of the Board expressed their ap- preciation for their extraordinary leadership and many years of service. Mr. Fralin is Chairman of Medical Fa- cilities of America, Inc. and Co-Chairman of Retirement Unlimited, Inc. He is cur- rently Vice Chairman of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). He also serves as Chairman of the Virginia Business Higher Education Council, is a member and past Chairman of the Virginia Business Council, is a member of the Advi- sory Board of Carter Immunology Center at the University of Virginia, and is Director of Virginia Western Community College Educational Founda- tion Board of Directors. Mr. Fralin is a past member and past Rector of the Board of Visitors at the University of Virginia. He is also a past member of the Common- wealth of Virginia's Higher Education Advisory Com- mittee, the Governor's Com- mission on Higher Education Reform, Innovation and In- vestment and the Council on Virginia's Future. He is a past member of the Board of Managers of the University of Virginia Alumni Association, the University of Virginia Capital Campaign Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees of the University of Virginia Foundation. He is also a former member of the Board of Visitors at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Mr. Fralin served three previous terms on the VAF Board from 1974-77, 1982-87 and 1989-93. He was president of the Board in 1976-77. Mr. Fralin has been a member of the Virginia Athletics Foundation for over 45 years.
