Isaiah Robertson wasn't sup-
posed to commit to Notre Dame on
April 15. He had planned to see a few
more schools and talk the situation
over with his family before making
a decision sometime in the summer
about where he wants to spend the
next four years of his life. But some-
times things just don't go as planned.
Robertson, who is ranked by Rivals
as the nation's No. 163 overall pros-
pect, said that he decided to give a
verbal pledge to the Irish after taking
a look at the big picture.
"I was just talking to my dad, and
what we discussed is how I have this
great opportunity in front of me,"
Robertson said. "Notre Dame is a
great school and one that I have look-
ing at for a long time, so what's the
reason to wait? I went ahead and just
made the decision to commit."
While the Naperville (Ill.) Neuqua
Valley four-star athlete is listed by
most recruiting services as a wide re-
ceiver, he's being recruited by Notre
Dame to play safety. According to
Robertson, that's one of the reasons
why he'll eventually suit up for the
Irish.
