An otherwise uneventful meeting with the media took a turn when a reporter asked the hulking Fighting Irish lineman if he came to Notre Dame planning to stay five years, or leave after four like many do in South Bend. "It's going to be a five-year pro- cess," McGlinchey said matter-of- factly. "I have 19 games left here, and that's what I fully intend to take on. "I've played a lot of football so far, but I have a lot left to accomplish, and I'm not going to put myself in a position to go somewhere when I'm not fully ready to. I'm fully confident that I will be ready at some point, but I don't think it'll be after this season." McGlinchey came to Notre Dame in the fall of 2013 as a four-star prospect with plenty of room to grow. When- ever he ends up leaving Notre Dame, the team captain will have left a mark on all his teammates and coaches.
