verines, Mikulak won the national championship in high bar with a score of 15.45, 0.400 points ahead of the second-place finisher — the largest margin of victory of any in- dividual title at this year's NCAA Championships. Mikulak also fin- ished second in the NCAA all-around competition. And this all came a year after he In his second year with the Wol- won the all-around national champi- onship as a true freshman. Mikulak can tie the program record (Gil LaRose, 1963 all-around, hori- zontal bar and vault champion; Edsel Buchanan, 1949-51 trampoline cham- pion) with one more NCAA title. Mikulak also won a pair of Big Ten career with a 24-12-3 record and a team MVP award. He compiled five shutouts and racked up a career-high 46 saves in a 10-3 win over Ohio State. He left the program with career re- As a senior, Hunwick capped his cords for goals-against average (2.06) and save percentage (.928). When the Wolverines bowed out of the NCAA Tournament, Hunwick was picked up by the Columbus Blue Jackets and wore his winged helmet on the bench. 6. Sophomore Rachael Mack, Field Hockey: In her second year with the Wolverines, Mack estab- lished herself as the team's go-to of- fensive threat. She led the team with 17 goals (six more than any other player) and 37 points (12 more than any other player). And when Michigan needed a scorer the most, she stepped up, titles (high bar and parallel bar) in 2012, becoming the first Wolverine in 12 years to win multiple individual conference crowns in one year. 4. Junior Denard Robinson, Foot- ball: Before the 2011 season, many Michigan fans were deeply con- cerned about Robinson's ability to play in new head coach Brady Hoke's pro-style offensive scheme. Those concerns seem silly now. Robinson made the offense work, blending a creative mix of drop-back mechanics with his dangerous ath- leticism. He finished the year with 2,173 passing yards and 1,176 rush- ing yards, becoming just the second player in NCAA history to surpass 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in two seasons (Nevada's Colin Kaepernick, 2008-10). Robinson supplied the Michigan faithful with legendary moments, such as his second-half performance against Notre Dame when he helped the Wolverines claw back from a 24-7 hole to win 35-31 while amassing 446 yards of total offense in the process. He added 337 yards (170 rushing and 167 passing) against Ohio State to help secure the Wolverines' first vic- tory in the heated rivalry since 2003. Robinson earned second-team All- Big Ten honors and was named the team MVP after the season. 5. Fifth-Year Senior Shawn Hun- wick, Ice Hockey: On the Wolver- ines' senior night, the cheers from the crowd rained down on the un- dersized goalie in net. "Shawn Hunwick," the crowd chanted over and over. "Shawn Hunwick." He will certainly be missed. Quarterback Denard Robinson finished 2011 with 2,173 passing yards and 1,176 rushing yards, becoming the second player in NCAA history to top 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in two seasons.
