Was the UVA FIELD HOCKEY team's seed entering the ACC Tournament, which they
won Nov. 6 with a 4-2 win over North Carolina. The first conference title in program history
marked the lowest-seeded champion in the event's history and garnered the Cavaliers an
automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Cavs' 13 goals scored in three games were also
a record.

Is where the UVA men's basketball squad
finished in the preseason media projections
of the ACC standings. Fourth-year guard London
Perrantes was named to the preseason All-ACC
first team and finished third in the ACC Player of
the Year vote.

Former Virginia stars made NBA rosters at
the start of the 2016 season — third-year
guard Joe Harris, rookie guard Malcolm Brogdon,
second-year forward Justin Anderson and fifth-
year forward Mike Scott.

Women's soccer players earned All-ACC rec-
ognition — fourth-year midfielder Alexis
Shaffer was named the ACC Offensive Player of the
Year and Midfielder of the Year while also earning
first-team All-ACC honors. Fourth-year defender
Kristen McNabb was named second-team All-
ACC, while third-year forward Veronica Latsko and
rookie forward Alissa Gorzak were named to the
All-ACC third team. Gorzak and midfielder Zoe
Morse were listed on the league's All-Freshman
squad.
