VAF GOLF TOURNAMENT 2016
The 12th annual Virginia Athletics Foundation Golf Tournament was held at the Country Club of
Virginia's James River Course on Oct. 3. With the hard work of Coley Wortham and Bob Mizell, who
encourage so many Richmond area participants, the event was a great success.
Following lunch, coaches and members of the UVA Men's and Women's Golf teams introduced them-
selves and were paired to play with each of the foursomes in a scramble format. Participants enjoyed a
beautiful day for golf and a post tournament awards reception.
Congratulations to the 18 proximity winners and the winning team BB&T Capital Markets which in-
cluded Alex Cecil, Wilson Cecil, Elliott Beaulieu, Jake Savage and fourth-year men's golf student-athlete
Jimmy Stanger.
Proceeds from the tournament directly benefit the Men's and Women's Golf teams. Thank you to
everyone who participated in the tournament and supported these UVA Golf programs.
