■ BASKETBALL RECRUITING The No. 55-ranked Lewis is originally from Statesville, N.C., but is the floor gen- eral for No. 1-ranked Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy for his senior sea- son. Lewis and Warren were also selected to play in the Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic April 6 at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky. "It's a big honor — dreams come true," Lewis said. "I prayed about making the McDonald's All-American Game. Hope- fully, I can go out there and play my best. "I know it's the first time in NC State history to have three selections. Hopefully we can come in next year and make more history. I know the expectations will rise. Everybody will be gunning for us because we have three selected." Gottfried was pleased that his current recruiting class was selected to the McDon- ald's All-American Game. "We've got great opportunity here for young players," Gottfried said. "We have a new coaching staff. There is so much to sell here at NC State. The fact that they came tells me that they want to be a part of something really unique, and that is trying to build a basketball program back up. I don't know if it says anything bigger than that. "We are extremely proud of the guys we got and excited about them coming, whether they are in that game or not. The fact that they are in that game brings more attention to the group." NC State had the most players signed in the game, though five players are still un- decided, including Wolfpack target Amile Jefferson of Wynnewood (Pa.) Friends Central. Jefferson will be taking an unoffi- cial visit to watch the Duke-North Carolina game in Durham March 3. "I know I'm going to be on Amile at the McDonald's Game, talking to him hard about it," Lewis said. ■ plus videos of Wolfpack commitments and targets visit TheWolfpacker.com. 1979 — Sidney Lowe and Dereck Whittenburg 1982 — Ernie Myers 1984 — Chris Washburn 1985 — Walker Lambiotte 1987 — Chris Corchiani and Rodney Monroe 1999 — Damien Wilkins 2000 — Scooter Sherrill 2001 — Julius Hodge 2005 — Brandon Costner 2007 — J.J.
