Flanked by Notre Dame director of athletics Jack Swarbrick and 2015
College Football Hall of Fame inductee Thom Gatewood, who played at
Notre Dame from 1968-71, all-time Fighting Irish tackles leader (521)
and 1980-81 consensus All-American linebacker Bob Crable was honored
during the season opener versus Temple Sept. 2 for his induction this year
into the College Football Hall of Fame.
With 46 former players and six former coaches now in the Hall, Notre
Dame has more honorees than any school in the country. Crable is part of
the 2017 class that includes 10 players and three coaches.
