Since 2007, she has been a women's basketball analyst for the Big Ten Network. The Wolverine: What are you impressions of new Michigan head coach Kim Barnes Arico? White: "I think she is outstanding. It's a terrific hire. What she did at St. John's in the Big East was phenomenal. She took a program from the depths of the cellar to being a perennial contender. She's coming into a unique situation at Michigan, where it is not necessarily a rebuilding process, and she is going to take that program to another level. NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row? White: "I certainly think so. They return a lot of great players. But they bring back a lot. And when you have a player like Jenny Ryan, who is just a winner, it always helps. She's a competitor, and she brings that every single day. This is a team that got a little taste for being in the NCAA Tournament last season, and it's going to keep them hungry to get back there. The Wolverine: Where do you see Michigan finishing in the Big Ten? White: "It's going to be an interesting year. There were seven conference teams in the NCAA Tournament last year, with four teams tied in the standings for sec- ond place in the league. Penn State and Nebraska are the obvious frontrunners, but everything else right now is up for grabs. … In the Big Ten, it's about winning the games you should and stealing the ones that are up in the air. I think Michi- gan certainly has the ability to be right there in the hunt. " " THEWOLVERINE.COM'S Wolverine on Facebook at: Face- book.com/TheWolverineMaga- zine.
