In Rivals.com's updated top 250 players in the coun- try, Person checked in at No. 91. He also was rated as the No. 3 all-pur- pose back nationally and the No. 5 prospect in North Carolina. WIDE RECEIVER JASIAH PROVILLON Irvington (N.J.) High The 6-3, 190-pound Provillon caught 57 passes for 687 yards and eight touchdowns to help Irvington go 8-3 and reach the semifinals of the North 2 Group 4 state playoffs. He also played defense and com - piled 43 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble. Rivals.com ranks Provillon as the No. 17 player in New Jersey and the No. 80 wide receiver in the country. CORNERBACK TESHAUN SMITH Davie (Fla.) Western High The 6-3, 170-pound Smith helped Western High go farther than ever before in the state playoffs, reaching the quarterfinals of the 8A tourna- ment before ending its season with a 10-3 record. Smith was offered a scholarship in December by Nebraska, but re- mained firm with the Wolfpack. OFFENSIVE TACKLE JALYNN STRICKLAND Waycross (Ga.) Ware County High Ware County finished the season 5-6 after falling in the second round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs. The 6-6, 310-pound Strickland started at tackle for the Gators, who averaged 196.9 rushing yards per game and 5.5 yards per carry. LINEBACKER PAYTON WILSON Hillsborough (N.C.) Orange High Wilson's senior season was cut short by a torn ACL, but the 6-4, 225-pounder still had 103 tackles, 21 stops for loss and 10 sacks in eight games. He also intercepted a pass, broke up two more and recovered a fumble. Offensively, he rushed 67 times for 222 yards and five scores, plus caught 15 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns. He was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and U.S. Army All-American Game.
