44 ■ THE WOLFPACKER 2019 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE Stats: Last season at Oregon, he caught three passes for 32 yards and a touchdown in one game … As a ju- nior at Wake Forest, he had 53 receptions for 683 yards and seven scores in 12 contests … Hauled in 38 catches for 447 yards and three scores in 12 games during his sophomore season … In 12 contests as a rookie, caught 32 passes for 366 yards and three scores. Honors/accomplishments: 247Sports rated him as the No. 44 available transfer in 2019 … Led Wake Forest in receptions as a junior and tied a school bowl record with two touchdown receptions in its Belk Bowl win over Texas A&M … Was the ACC Receiver of the Week after catching eight passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns against NC State in 2017 … Had four career 100-yard receiving games at Wake Forest, including two against NC State … Went to Oregon as a graduate transfer in 2018, but played in only one con- test … Left after falling behind on the depth chart while recovering from an offseason knee procedure … Was able to use his redshirt at Oregon and will have one season of eligibility left with the Wolfpack. Recruitment: Received attention from Oklahoma, Rutgers and Western Illinois, in addition to NC State … Visited NC State the weekend of Jan. 25 and committed at the end of the trip. 2019 PROJECTION Hines arrives in Raleigh expecting to play a major role in the passing attack. NC State returns just Thayer Thomas, a redshirt sophomore, at slot re- ceiver, so Hines has an opportunity to immediately impact the offense. I would like to have a role that will be remembered as one of the top single seasons in the Pack's history … but winning is living. — Hines Measurables: At the All-American combine in San Antonio, he checked in at 6-2, 316 pounds with a 6-foot-4 wing span … Was laser-timed at 5.58 seconds in the 40- yard dash and registered leaps of 26.0 inches in the verti- cal and 7-foot-10 in the standing broad jump … Reportedly can bench press 400 pounds and squat 600 pounds. Stats: As a senior, he posted 53 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks … Produced 65 stops, 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks as a junior. Honors/accomplishments: Selected to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star game, started and made one solo tackle … Was all-conference and earned All-Area honors from The Durham Herald-Sun as a junior … Listed as the No. 5 player in North Carolina by The Fayetteville Observer and was No. 4 according to The Charlotte Observer. Recruitment: NC State was first to offer Harris in the summer prior to his junior year, and was later joined by Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee, among numerous others, following his junior campaign … Narrowed his choices to a final five of Georgia, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee … Chose NC State July 9 and enrolled early. Recruiter of record: Linebackers coach and defen- sive coordinator Dave Huxtable 2019 PROJECTION Interior defensive tackle depth is a question mark on next year's team after the unexpected departure of redshirt sophomore Shug Frazier, and Harris is an excellent candidate to get on the field early.
