142 ■ THE WOLFPACKER WOLFPACK BASKETBALL Mississippi Community College in Sum- mit, Miss. "I liked the family environment, the coaches, the tour and then we just talked," Taylor recalled of his visit to NCSU. "I told him, 'I don't need you to sugarcoat any- thing.' He just kept it straight, point-blank with what he wanted me to do. "I'm excited and I just want to show what we can do. I'm trying to get a cham- pionship." Taylor originally thought he'd sign with Virginia Tech, where he officially visited. However, head coach Buzz Williams left to go to Texas A&M. He officially visited College Station, Texas, but Williams didn't know that Tay- lor wasn't able to attend any SEC school. The league has a rule where a prospect has to spend three straight semesters at the same junior college, but Taylor had at- tended a different junior college during the second semester of his freshman year. After it became clear he couldn't play for Williams, NC State, Southern Illinois, Ne- braska, Oregon State and Boston College, among others, jumped into his recruitment. Taylor is expected to play both forward positions at NC State. "When they came into the recruiting pro- cess, I thought they could be the one," said the Davenport, Iowa, native. Dixon, Taylor and Allen were part of five players who picked NC State leading up to the April signing period. Wing Dereon Seabron of Woodstock (Va.) Massanutten Military Academy and Lehigh graduate transfer Pat Andree rounded out the new- comers added this spring. ■ www.pursuitwealthstrategies.com 8321 Bandford Way #105 Raleigh, NC 27615 (919) 847-7600 Life First, Money Second.
