14 ■ THE WOLFPACKER TRACKING THE PACK ville, among others. The 6-2, 270-pound Vann enjoyed a monster junior season, fin- ishing with 79 tackles (49 solo), 26 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles. Vann is also a force in the weight room, benching 330 pounds and squatting 475 pounds. He was laser-timed at 4.65 sec- onds in the 40-yard dash at a Nike Opening Regional in Washington, D.C. Rivals.com rates him as a two-star prospect. In addition to his success on the grid- iron, Vann won a 4-A heavyweight state title in wrestling and was second in the state track and field championships in the shot put. In June, he finished third in that same event at the New Balance National Outdoor Championships. Two-star tight end Ezemdi Udoh from Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford com- mitted to NC State June 11. The 6-5, 225-pounder had very early offers from Tennessee and Virginia, and then in the spring added NC State and East Carolina, among others. Udoh is a raw prospect that caught four passes for 30 yards a year ago as a junior, but possesses considerable upside. He also has good genes. His older brother Oli Udoh developed into a 6-5, 323-pound offensive tackle at Elon and was a great athlete for his size. Udoh ran the 40-yard dash in 5.05 seconds and had a 28.5-inch vertical leap at the NFL Combine this past April. He also did 26 reps at 225 pounds. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. His older sister Ona Udoh is a two-year starter for Wake Forest's women's basketball team and a 6-1 forward. She averaged 8.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last year. Three-star safety Nehki Meredith from Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sul- livan wrapped up a busy June when he committed to NC State June 15. Prior to that, Meredith took visits to LSU, North Carolina, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and West Virginia during the recruiting process, claiming offers from each of those programs. Meredith said that his decision came down to NC State and TCU. The 5-10, 170-pounder is rated as the No. 23 pros- pect in Virginia by Rivals.com. ■ NC State defensive tackle commit Davin Vann racked up 79 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles during his junior season at Cary (N.C.)
